The Tor browser is presented as an alternative to VPN in order to escape surveillance. The Tor team says on their blog: "Although we can't offer an official Tor browser on iOS due to Apple restrictions, the only app we recommend is Onion Browser, developed by Mike Tigas with the help of of the Guardian project ". Si Tor Browser is therefore available under Android, it is not the same under iOS, the fault of restrictions imposed by Apple. But this time it's a real stable version. As you might expect, there were a lot of bugs and stability issues.
The first alpha version of Tor was released in September 2018. The Tor team have just released the first official browser version Tor for Android. Now a stable version is also available for Android smartphones. Until recently, it was only available on computers.
